Both. Wix Studio is the newer, more flexible environment and it is usually where we build new sites, because it gives far more control over responsive behaviour and layout. If your existing site is on classic Wix we can work there too — we will tell you which makes sense for your project rather than defaulting to one.
We can work on what you have. Most redesigns keep your existing Wix account, domain, content and history, and rebuild the design on top. Starting again is occasionally the faster route if the current site is deeply tangled, but that is a recommendation we would make with reasons, not a default.
Every project is quoted individually, because a five-page site for a local business and a forty-page site with bookings and a shop are not the same job. The things that move the number most are the number of pages, how much custom functionality is involved, whether you need brand and identity work alongside the site, and how much content already exists. A straightforward marketing site is typically a few weeks from first conversation to launch. Larger builds, or ones waiting on photography and copy, take longer. The honest answer is that the design and build are rarely the bottleneck — content usually is, so the projects that move fastest are the ones where the words and pictures are ready.
Yes. Velo is Wix's development platform and it covers a lot — custom forms and logic, database collections, dynamic pages, API calls to third-party services. There are limits, and we will tell you when something you want is genuinely outside what Wix can do well rather than building a fragile workaround.
It is considerably better than its reputation, which is largely based on how Wix behaved a decade ago. You get control over titles, descriptions, headings, URL structure, redirects, structured data and sitemaps. What you do not get is the deep technical control of a self-hosted site, and very large sites can hit limits. For most small and mid-sized businesses, Wix is not what is holding your rankings back.
Yes, and that is usually one of the reasons to choose Wix in the first place. We hand over with a walkthrough of the editor covering the things you will actually change — text, images, pages, blog posts, products. You are not locked into coming back to us for routine edits.
Onto Wix, yes — we rebuild the site in Wix and carry across your content, with redirects so your existing search rankings and inbound links survive the move. Off Wix is more involved, because Wix sites cannot be exported as portable code; it means a rebuild on the new platform. Either way, redirects and preserving rankings are part of the job, not an afterthought.
Yes, either ad hoc or as a retained arrangement. Some clients come back a couple of times a year for changes; others want a set number of hours each month for updates, new pages and small improvements. Both work — we would rather you had a number to ring than be left with a site nobody maintains.
