The challenge

The domestic and commercial electrical contracting market requires marketing materials that project absolute safety, rapid response and competitive pricing. The objective was to design a high impact promotional flyer for KZN Services, focusing on their electrical inspection and safety offerings. The primary challenge lay in organising a diverse array of technical details including service listings, pricing tiers, operational sectors and direct call to actions into a compact, single page print format. The design needed to instantly command attention through a letterbox or on a community board, utilising technical electrical hardware imagery without appearing cluttered or visually overwhelming to the everyday consumer.

Our approach

We developed an energetic, high contrast design system that relies on dynamic diagonal geometry and an authoritative corporate colour palette.

The Visual Hook & Imagery The top half of the flyer features high resolution product photography of critical electrical safety hardware, including PAT testing labels, fuse boards and heavy duty power plugs. A bold, sweeping diagonal split separates this imagery from the text, adding a sense of modern momentum to the layout.

The Typography & Colour Palette We curated a vibrant, industry appropriate colour scheme of electric yellow, deep navy blue and crisp white. We implemented a heavy, stylised sans serif typeface for the primary headline hooks, "POWER UP!" and "YOUR SAFETY," stacking the text with bold drop shadows to ensure it stands out instantly against the energetic yellow background.

The Information Architecture The body copy is meticulously segmented into distinct informational zones. The central blue panel houses a clean, bulleted list of core offerings such as PAT Testing, Electrical Inspections, and Appliance Repairs alongside a highly prominent phone number block. The bottom sector integrates custom hexagonal icons to categorise their target markets (e.g., landlords, offices, businesses) and highlights a clear pricing hook starting from £54.00 for 35 items.

The outcome

The final asset delivers a highly effective, professional marketing tool that seamlessly bridges emergency utility advertising with trustworthy corporate professionalism. The strategic use of vibrant colour blocks, clean list columns and authoritative trust badges (such as "Certified Technicians" and "Competitive Pricing") positions KZN Services as a reliable, transparent local authority. The print ready digital templates were delivered with optimised colour mapping to ensure the intense electric yellows and deep navy tones retain their sharp contrast and vivid energy on physical, gloss coated paper stock.
