This portfolio showcase highlights the packaging design and multi variant pouch layout for Vision Lures Custom Baits. The objective was to design a high visibility, action oriented retail pouch system that captures the raw excitement of sport fishing, instantly communicating premium lure quality, regional manufacturing pride, and trusted outdoor performance to anglers.
Design & Requirements Breakdown
Visual Symbolism – The design features sweeping, dynamic wave graphics layered behind fine line golden fishing hook and line vector illustrations, evoking aquatic motion and precision tackle engineering. A prominent, circular badge displays a leaping bass silhouette against a bright yellow sunset, which is paired with an authentic Canadian flag "Made in Canada" origin tag to reinforce manufacturing heritage and local brand trust.
Typographic Architecture – An aggressive, dimensional western style display typeface gives "VISION LURES" a rugged, outdoor ready aesthetic with maximum shelf presence, perfectly balanced by a clean, heavy sans-serif sub header for "CUSTOM BAITS" and a motivational tagline ("We work so you can fish") running along the lower margin.
Premium Presentation – The structural layout showcases two distinct colour coded hanging pouches (a bright sky-blue daytime variant and a deep navy evening/deep water variant) featuring an integrated Euro slot for versatile retail peg hook displays. The reverse style presentation cleanly organises mandatory safety warning flags, legal text, and material handling guidelines across a smooth wave blocked layout without cluttering the primary brand presentation.
Strategic Colour Choice – High contrast aquatic blues ranging from bright tropical cyan to deep marine navy form a professional baseline, sharply contrasted by energetic sun yellow gradients and crisp white canvas blocks to evoke clear water visibility, outdoor vitality, and a trusted, high performance tackle identity.
