Summit Dual Car Mount Holder Packaging Design

The challenge

The automotive accessory market is intensely competitive, with retail shelves dominated by generic, low cost plastic packaging. The objective was to design a premium hanging retail box for Summit’s 2 in 1 Car Cup Mount Holder. The primary challenge lay in visually explaining the product’s unique dual mount functionality and flexible gooseneck structure within a narrow, vertical packaging format. The design needed to position the product as a high end, luxury automotive upgrade rather than a basic gadget, instantly commanding a higher perceived value.

Our approach

We engineered a sophisticated, "dark mode" aesthetic that leverages high contrast premium styling and clear spatial hierarchy.

The Visual System The front panel features a bold, floating product cutout showing the dual mounts in action, immediately answering how the device functions. The side panel incorporates stacked lifestyle photos showing the mount integrated inside a modern car cabin to demonstrate real world utility.

The Colour & Style We utilised a deep matte black and dark charcoal background paired with striking metallic gold branding and crisp white typography. An elegant, flowing gold line motif wraps around the lower section of the box, subtly mimicking automotive light trails and reinforcing a premium, high speed aesthetic.

The Information Hierarchy The primary "2 IN 1" feature is given massive typographic weight to serve as the main hook, while a clean car icon at the base establishes the product category instantly.

The outcome

The final asset delivers a striking, high end retail box that stands out on shelf hooks and commands premium retail space. The luxurious combination of matte black and gold successfully elevates Summit's brand presence above standard plastic blister packs. The production die line files were delivered with advanced finishes in mind, optimised for spot UV gloss on the product imagery and a metallic foil stamp on the gold logos to create a rich, tactile unboxing experience for consumers.
