Karrimor Energy Sachet Design
This portfolio showcase highlights the packaging design and sachet label execution for the Karrimor Sport Energy Sachet (Berry Burst). The objective was to design a high visibility, endurance focused drink mix sachet that bridges outdoor heritage with modern performance nutrition, instantly communicating rapid carb loading, intra workout refueling, and zero sugar hydration to active athletes.
Design & Requirements Breakdown
Visual Symbolism – The design features a dark, metallic Union Jack flag motif across the upper header, anchored by the iconic Karrimor logo badge. A bold crimson band frames "BERRY BURST" above a clean white lower panel, visually representing British outdoor heritage, intense berry flavour focus, and rapid energy delivery.
Typographic Architecture – A dominant, high contrast condensed sans-serif header commands primary attention with "ENERGY SACHET," supported by stylised block lettering for "BURST" and a high visibility call out for "ZERO CAL/SUGAR." A multi colour timeline strip ("BEFORE / DURING / AFTER") provides immediate operational clarity for optimal intra workout consumption.
Premium Presentation – The sleek single serve sachet layout utilises tear notch side profiles and a durable foil laminated barrier, protecting moisture sensitive drink powders while maintaining a compact, tear and go form factor tailored for hydration belts, running vests, and backpack pockets.
Strategic Colour Choice – Deep charcoal slate and metallic silver form an outdoor grade baseline, offset by intense crimson red, stark white, and energetic yellow to cyan accent indicators within the usage timeline. This palette signals high energy endurance drive, clean zero sugar hydration, and a professional athletic identity.
Target Audience Focus – The functional, feature first design is tailored to engage endurance runners, cyclists, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking portable, fast absorbing carbohydrate and electrolyte refueling without artificial sugar or unnecessary bulk.
