I wanted the cover to blend retro comic-book illustration with dark satire, creating a striking visual statement. Designed in a 1950s–60s pop-art newsroom style, it features a smiling television anchor alongside her skeletal co-presenter, delivering the news of humanity’s demise with unsettling cheer.
Behind them, vintage monitors broadcast scenes of nuclear explosions and apocalyptic destruction, while the bold headline “WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE” captures the single’s ironic, tongue-in-cheek message.
The concept juxtaposes the optimism and glamour of mid-century media with the grim reality of annihilation, reflecting themes of denial, mass media spin, and the absurdity of human self-destruction. The bold lines, halftone textures, and vivid colors echo classic pulp illustration while giving the design a contemporary edge.
